HORSCH Focus TDF – Strip Cultivation & Seeding in One Pass

The HORSCH Focus TDF combines four key operations in a single pass: targeted soil loosening, precise fertiliser placement, levelling and accurate seeding. The leading TerraGrip tine system clears harvest residues from the root zone while deeply loosening the soil to create ideal conditions for crop establishment.

A rear 3-point linkage provides excellent flexibility, allowing the Focus TDF to be combined with different seeding systems including the Maestro precision seed drill, TurboDisc and ParaDisc double disc coulters, or TurboEdge and WideEdge tine coulters. This allows the machine to be adapted to different crops, residue levels and establishment conditions.

Key Features

Four Operations in One Pass

The Focus TDF combines:

  • Targeted soil loosening
  • Precise fertiliser placement
  • Levelling and consolidation
  • Accurate seed placement

This creates an efficient one-pass establishment system while reducing unnecessary field operations.

TerraGrip Tine System

The leading TerraGrip tines remove harvest residues from the root zone and deeply loosen the soil ahead of fertiliser placement and seeding.

Flexible Fertiliser Placement

Depending on conditions, fertiliser can be applied:

  • 100% into the loosened root zone
  • 50% deep and 50% shallow

This allows nutrient placement to be adapted to soil, crop and weather conditions.

Rear 3-Point Linkage

The integrated rear 3-point linkage allows different seeding systems to be attached, significantly increasing the versatility of the Focus TDF.

Multiple Coulter Options

A range of seeding systems allows the machine to be configured for different crops and residue levels.

Consolidation Before Seeding

After loosening and fertiliser placement, the cultivated strip is closed and consolidated before the seed is accurately positioned.

Performance & Operation

  • Operations: Loosening, fertilising, levelling and seeding
  • Tine system: HORSCH TerraGrip
  • Fertiliser placement: 100% deep or 50:50 split
  • Rear connection: 3-point linkage
  • Main hopper: 5,000 litres
  • Hopper partition: 60:40
  • Optional MiniDrill: 400 litres
  • Seeding systems: Maestro, TurboDisc, ParaDisc, TurboEdge or WideEdge

Seeding & Coulter Options

Maestro

The HORSCH Maestro can be combined with the Focus TDF for accurate single-grain precision seeding.

TurboDisc

The proven TurboDisc double disc coulters provide precise seed placement and consistent depth control.

ParaDisc

ParaDisc double disc coulters provide an additional seeding option to suit different establishment requirements.

TurboEdge & WideEdge

The TurboEdge and WideEdge tine coulters provide additional flexibility, particularly when working with larger quantities of organic material and crop residues.

Hopper & MiniDrill Options

The Focus TDF is equipped with a 5,000 litre double hopper with a 60:40 partition.

An optional 400 litre MiniDrill provides additional flexibility for applying a third component.

MiniDrill G&F

The G&F version allows an additional component to be applied specifically within the tine area or through the seed coulter.

MiniDrill Solo

The MiniDrill can also apply an additional component to the soil surface, making it suitable for applications such as:

  • Slug pellets
  • Underseeds
  • Additional small seeds

Key Benefits

One-Pass Establishment

Four important operations are combined into a single field pass, helping improve efficiency and reduce field traffic.

Targeted Soil Loosening

TerraGrip tines loosen the crop's future root zone rather than unnecessarily cultivating the entire soil profile.

Precise Nutrient Placement

Flexible fertiliser positioning allows nutrients to be placed where the developing crop can access them effectively.

Flexible Seeding Systems

The rear 3-point linkage allows the machine to be adapted to cereals, precision-drilled crops and different residue conditions.

Strong Root Development

Deep loosening combined with targeted fertiliser placement encourages roots to develop into the loosened soil profile.

Three-Component Capability

The optional MiniDrill allows an additional seed, fertiliser or granular component to be applied during the same pass.

Applications

The HORSCH Focus TDF is ideal for:

  • Strip cultivation
  • One-pass crop establishment
  • Cereal drilling
  • Precision row crop drilling
  • Targeted fertiliser placement
  • High-residue conditions
  • Reduced tillage systems
  • Underseeding

Why Choose the HORSCH Focus TDF?

The HORSCH Focus TDF provides exceptional flexibility by combining strip cultivation, fertiliser placement, consolidation and seeding in one pass. Its rear 3-point linkage and wide choice of seeding systems allow one machine to be configured for different crops and establishment conditions throughout the season.
